At the tail end of summer I was given an incredible opportunity to photograph new content for the historical Lone Mountain Ranch in Big Sky, Montana. The ride from Bozeman alone made my heart skip beats as we headed deep into the mountains. I couldn’t have dreamed of a more scenic place and was so anxious to the week ahead.
With over a hundred years of ranching, Lone Mountain is an American West landmark. The ranch is part of an exclusive unique lodges of the world listing compiled by National Geographic.
I spent my days wandering about the sprawling grounds, exploring the rustic cabins and taking in the natural splendor [Westworld is on my mind in writing this].
During my week I caught the tail end of the yearly yoga escape and Cowgirl-Up weekend. We did day-trips fly-fishing and looking for animals, including a very close encounter with a buffalo. The hiking here seems endless and the sunsets are unforgettable. Full days were met with cozy nights next to the fire in my cabin and just the right amount of luxury to make me feel glowing at the start of each day.
Undoubtedly, my favorite moments were visiting the stables + spending time with the beautiful horses the ranch is known for. Dining up in the Horn + Cantle Restaurant was always a treat with a variety of veggie options and the best whiskey cocktails.
The Montana I thought I knew was changed forever, in the most wonderful of ways. For a girl who loves nature without going too rugged, this was all just right. Would love to share a few of my favorite snaps from this visit:
