Vietnamese Wedding at the 1909

Annie + Mike

The 1909 is one of those off-the-beaten-path wedding venue gems in the Los Angeles area. I was so happy when Annie and Mike reached out to capture their beautiful spring wedding.

The day began with a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony complete with traditional outfits and a processional from the groom’s family and friends. Annie was introduced by her mother who gave her hand and blessing to the groom. The couple then served tea to their honored family and friends. The colors were a spectacle in themselves.

For the Western part of the day, the couple and their guests changed into traditional looks. They included their rescue dog, Mango, in the first look before the ceremony. A wooden arch was covered in linen and painted with bright florals in orange, purple + pink. An emotional and beautiful ceremony as the sun glowed through the trees.

The garden cocktail hour + dinner followed with string lights illuminating tables of simple but elegant florals in a variety of vases. Everyone headed upstairs to be serenaded by the bride + groom who opted for a first song in leu of a first dance.

One of my favorite Weddings at this special venue in Topnaga Canyon.
