Golden Gate Club Wedding in San Francisco

Erica + Francis

I first met Erica + Francis when they were guests at a wedding up in Sebastopol. Francis noted my Leica and we chatted about his recent trip to New Zealand. He proposed to Erica not too soon after and we got to spend some time at their beautiful engagement session in Sutro Baths [I added a few of those photos here!]

For their wedding day, they wanted something classic and elegant. They chose the heart of the Presidio as the backdrop and the Golden Gate Club as the ceremony and reception venue.

The Golden Gate Club was opened as a first class spot for enlisted men + women in 1949. In some light research I discovered that actually several treaties were signed here in the first days of the Korean War. The style is Spanish Colonial revival and features a series of unique rooms and spaces. The views of the bay are unmatched.

So much style in one day. Erica’s wedding gown was fitted with a gem-encrusted belt. Francis went full-on no shoes in a fitted navy tux. The two got ready at the historic Funston House and did a first look right on the porch. This is one of the best getting spots in the bay area. Well curated and comfortable. We did some bridal party portraits out on the lawn and all walked over to the Golden Gate Club.

Every element to this day had some kind of thoughtful elegance and grace to it from the invitations to the stunning chuppah in neutral greens. The ceremony was outdoor in the courtyard and had so many wonderful and fun moments.

For sunset photos we walked just a little up the hill to the edge of the woods. These two are big music lovers and watching them on the dance floor was the most fun. I was so happy to capture this fun day. Hope you enjoy just a few of my favorites:
