In light of the recent fires around the canyons of Malibu I wanted to share this one as soon as I could to show the beautiful hidden gem in the Malibu Canyon hills.
The Stonewall Ranch did get hit by the fires and is currently undergoing some repairs so it can be up and back to new again. This post is meant to be a celebration of this beautiful venue and what it will be restored back to. [UPDATED 2021- Still no word on a reopening, I have reached out!]
Stonewall is a secret Malibu treasure. This was apparent to me in shooting Lauren + Rolando’s Engagement session back last spring.
The grounds at this Malibu Canyon property are sprawling and include gated entrances, horse stables, windy roads and plenty of spots for ocean views. Before the fires the bridal suite was a cute little cottage just by the reception space. Surrounded by trees and gardens, just perfect.
Stonewall Ranch is known for it’s breathtaking ceremony space up on the main hill, perfectly situated between two trees. The spot doesn’t have alot of room for parking so guests actually have to be shuttled up which makes for a fun little adventure. After the ceremony the guests can enjoy cocktail hour and watching the sun set from the hillside. I did this with the bride and groom this beautiful day.
Lauren + Rolando celebrated with all their dear ones and I was so lucky to be there to capture it all. Favorite memories were hanging with the guys for getting ready around the main house gardens, their first look surrounded by lavender, watching the sunset from the cloud line and dancing into the evening under string lights.
I put together a few of my favorites from this day. Not sure when this venue will open back up but I can’t wait to photograph it again!
