Jessica and Geoff have a zest for life. Their engagement session at El Matador Beach was laid back and full of laughs. It was like having a ocean side hang with old friends. They have such fantastic stories about living and traveling abroad in China and all over the world. These two have fun together and fun with life. A wedding photographers absolute dream to shoot and I was so happy to capture their day.
Their wedding was at the beautiful Bel-Air Bay Club, a sprawling 1920’s Mediterranean Style Mansion with a 180 degree view of the sea. We did their first look along the stairs, having Jessica come down the stairs for a grand reveal. Their ceremony was out on the lawn overlooking the sea and dinner and dancing followed upstairs in the ballroom and courtyard. This venue is a Los Angeles Wedding gem and this was the perfect summer day to be here.
They added fun little elements like having each of the groomsmen made into a bobble head, the Casper movie quote ‘Can I Keep you?’ on their invites, a full spread dessert bar and mini suitcase party favors signifying their love for travel. This couple also did a fully choreographed first dance.
Everything about the Bel Air Club feels like a Tuscan Villa with the columns, arches, tile and water fountains. The grounds had quite a few different nooks and hidden spots for photos. We did a champagne toast with bridesmaids in a quiet garden spot and did a first look by the outside staircase. I enjoyed doing bridal party portraits on the lawn alongside my videographer Partner in Crime, Ron Weaver.
Grateful for Jess + Geoff + this dreamy day by the sea. Here are a few of my favorite moments:
