Union on Eighth Wedding in Austin

Kristin and Will

I have only ever been to Austin once. In what seems like another life, I played trumpet in the marching band at Texas Tech University. We did an overnight trip to the game and stayed overnight. Since I was not of drinking age, my fond memory of the trip included ordering room service at the Embassy Suites with my per diem cash.

When Kristin and Will asked me to photograph their wedding I leapt. They are animal lovers, two of the kindest people and super chill. I was so thrilled to shoot my first wedding in Texas and finally have a real chance to experience Austin!

Kristin and Will chose the Union on Eighth for their beautiful fall wedding. The venue used to be an old automotive repair store and still even boasts tire markings on the old beams of the reception area. Everything had a charm to it from the air-stream trailer for the groomsmen to get ready to the famous blue doors in front.

I was so happy that these guys were up for a little walk to the downtown area of Georgetown. We played around the main street square and got some of my favorite images of the day.

The couple gave some awesome recommendations for the rest of my time in Austin. Halloween was in full swing and I had some fun doing a city ghost tour, shopping and eating tacos. My boyfriend [and marvelous second shooter] and I really enjoy haunted houses and visiting the famous House of Torment was especially fun.

Hope you enjoy a few snaps from this beautiful day in this fun city. Congratulations you two!
